MozBackup is a free tiny program that makes saving and restoring all your bookmarks, extensions, cache and other personal settings on Mozilla software a streamlined and stress-free experience.
The program works with Firefox, Thunderbird, Sunbird, SeaMonkey, Mozilla Suite, Songbird, Flock and Netscape on Windows platforms. It doesn't work on Linux or Mac but other than that, it's almost silly to not use this program.
Install and setup the application
The install process for MozBackup is quick and simple. Once you have downloaded the latest stable version, in 5 easy steps and less than 1 minute, the software is installed.

Maybe the most important screen is the other advising you that the program is provided "as-is".

Once you have finished the installation, it is time to backup your Mozilla software of choice. Close the program you want to back up, then run MozBackup.
Backing Up a Profile
Once you are ready to backup your Mozilla software, run MozBackup and this would be the first screen that you will see. Click Next.

In the second window, you will be asked to choose between “Backup a profile” or “Restore a profile”. For starters we will try to back-up a profile and later on we will learn how to restore one as well.

Choose which application you want to run. In my case, I chose Songbird. Once you are finished, click Next.
On the next step, you will be asked to which profile you want the backup to be saved. You can choose default or perhaps portable? Sweet, isn't it?

In regards to the filename, I kept the suggested name as it describes the best what application we are backing up. Click Next once done.
As with every backup software you will be asked if you want to set up a password or continue without one.

You will be provided with the option to which components you want to back-up. Depending on the application selected, you will be able to choose different components.

Once you finish this step and click next, the program will get to work and will save those components for future times when you won't need them for sure. But in the end isn't that the purpose of a back-up?
Restoring a Profile
Now that we have made a back-up for Songbird, let's that something happened and we want to restore it.
Once you have started MozBackup, here is the first window that you will see. Click Next.

In the second window, you will once again need to choose between “Backup a profile” or “Restore a profile” and the Mozilla software that you want to install the profile backup to. For our example, I have chose “Restore a profile” and Songbird application. Click Next once done.

In the third window, you will need to browse for the backup file that you created earlier (recommended to do this first), then choose the profile that you would like to restore to.
Once you decided which backup file you want to use, click Next.

As on the back-up procedure, choose which components your want to restore. If you decide that you want to skip restoring let's say the saved passwords, simply deselect that option.

Advancing to the next step, you will be presented the following warning:

If you decide to agree, and there is no other choice (right?), MozBackup will start doing silently his job and the final step will display the job succesfully done.

Enjoy your newly restored Songbird, Firefox, Thunderbird or what ever you wanted restored.
