Windows 7 is fast and it is quite satisfying in the role of replacing Windows XP and Vista, but you can make it much faster and responsible with EnhanceMySe7en. EnhanceMySe7en helps users to control many aspects of the system with maximum convenience. You will get everything needed for maintaining Windows 7 in a perfect condition.
The program offers tools that take care of the registry, disk space and its defragmentation, installed software, HDD temperature and all sorts of things related to system's health. Also there are lots of other options helping to boost your system's performance.
With a clean and simple interface it brings you an All-in-One set of powerful and neatly classified tools, settings and tweaks.
In this article, I shall deal with the 'Tools' section, which include system information, processes, services, registry cleaner, disk cleaner, defragmenter, startup items, hard drives monitor.
After downloading and installing EnhanceMySe7en, you will be able to monitor and tweak your operating system in order to maintain and increase performance. Thanx to the extremely user friendly interface, EnhanceMySe7en is very easy to use. The program has five main categories dispalyed as tabs on the top of the application window.
Clicking on the 'Tools' tab will bring up a suite of basic tools needed to ensure your PC runs error free and fast. The first tool is 'System Information'. This will display data related to your operating system (Windows name, version, build number, etc), processor information (name, speed, type, version, etc.) and computer system information (Memory capacity, physical memory, description, owner name, etc.)
Next, in the 'Processes' section, you can view all running processes and threads on this machine. You can select a proces by clicking on it, then see its details or set priority. Processes can be killed or you can verify signatures in order to decide whether they are ok or are some form of malware.
If you select to see the details for a process, a new window will open displaying the process info, the process file info, thread info and module info. Clicking on the drop-down menu on top of the window will allow you to select any running process and see its details.
The 'Services' tool helps you manage your systems services, whether they are started or stopped. Services can be started, stopped, enabled or disabled.
The 'Registry Cleaner' is an important tool designed to maintain your registry integrity. Installing and un-installing lots of programs my overload your registry and slow down your computer. It is recommended to regularily clean your registry from application left-overs (unusable files) in order to keep up your computer's performance. However, before registry cleaning, you can perform a backup which can be restored if anything goes wrong.
The 'Disk Cleaner' can help you get rid of unused, worthless files on your disks: you can search Windows 7 registry for invalid files adn path values. You can also delete invalid start menu entries, invalid Program Files directories, empty files and invalid shortcuts.
The following tool can be found as a Windows 7 tool as well: 'Defragmenter' - it helps you defragment your drives and registry in order to increase PC speed and drive reliability. There no scheduler to automate the process, so you will have to do it manually by selecting the drive you wish to defragment and hitting the 'Start' button. It's recommended to stop all other running programs while defragmenting your drives in order to speed up the defragmentation process.
Last, but not least, the startup manager allows you to enable or disable programs that start with automatically when Windows 7 starts.
In the end, the 'Hard Drives Monitor' speaks by itself: it will monitor your disks' health, so that you can take correctional actions in case anything goes wrong.
