Thunderbird is one of the products released by the nowadays legendary company Mozilla, the one who stepped on Microsoft pride and is wrestling with their famous Internet Explorer.

What is Thunderbird? Well, in my opinion, Thunderbird is one of the must have software in your computer. It is a mail client and I must assure you that besides cooking it does it all.

So let’s see what in the house and how can you install this beauty.

First you must press continue in order to start he installation of Thunderbird version 2.0.0.9

Your next task is the License Agreement. You know the drill. If you want the software you must agree with the license, else it’s Hasta la Vista Mail.

The next step is whether to install it standard or custom. If you decide for standard, Thunderbird will be installed in your Program Files directory and the client will be installed right away. Instead, if you go for custom, then you will be required to decide where to install the program.

You will get to choose which icons will be created and the name of the folder which will appear in Start Menu. After that Mozilla Thunderbird will be installed according to your wishes.

If you already have an outlook account and you want to import it into Thunderbird, you can import it at the following screen “Import Settings and Mail Folder from”:

If you don’t own a mail account handled by Outlook, you will have to set one yourself. It’s no big deal.

Enter your name, the email you are using, the server information (most of the times these can be found on your email account settings information) and then you’re done.

Here you go, all set.
